Betty was born in Shilbottle, Northumberland and during her childhood she lived in many places, one being North Road, Ponteland, with her father\u2019s job as a Headteacher. Betty worked in the Civil Service and became breadwinner to her family on her father\u2019s untimely death.<\/p>\n
Betty was an enthusiastic member of many organisations in Ponteland. She was in the WI, serving on the executive committee for 12 years.
\nBetty and her husband, John, were both Presidents of Ponteland Bowling Club.<\/p>\n
Ponteland Repertory Society played an important part in Betty and John\u2019s life from 1967. They had so much fun rehearsing for musicals and
\nplays. Betty had the honour of being a Life Member of the Society and the President. She enjoyed being in the audience in later years, helping as she could and always enjoying doing the raffle \u2018calling\u2019 at performances.<\/p>\n
Betty leaves a son, Graeme, a grandson and twin great grandchildren. She was much loved by all the family.<\/p>\n
