Betty worked in the Civil Service and became breadwinner to her family on her father\u2019s untimely death.<\/p>\n<p>Betty was an enthusiastic member of many organisations in Ponteland. She was in the WI, serving on the executive committee for 12 years.<br \/>\nBetty and her husband, John, were both Presidents of Ponteland Bowling Club.<\/p>\n<p>Ponteland Repertory Society played an important part in Betty and John\u2019s life from 1967. They had so much fun rehearsing for musicals and<br \/>\nplays. Betty had the honour of being a Life Member of the Society and the President. She enjoyed being in the audience in later years, helping as she could and always enjoying doing the raffle \u2018calling\u2019 at performances.<\/p>\n<p>Betty leaves a son, Graeme, a grandson and twin great grandchildren.
