Rehearsals for our 15th June concert at St Mary’s Ponteland will begin on Thursday 28th March<\/strong> at The Badger.\u00a0 The theme is Broadway, West End and the movies.<\/p>\n

The first rehearsal will have us look at a medley from the musical\/movie Frozen<\/em>.\u00a0 We will also be looking at a medley from the musical Hairspray<\/em> and copies will be available on Thursday at the Badger.\u00a0 As this is the first session (starting at 7.30), this first session is free.\u00a0 A payment of \u00a345 for the remaining sessions will be due when we continue on Thursday 11th April<\/strong>.\u00a0 Rehearsals are as follows:<\/p>\n

1 – 28th March
\n2 – 11th April
\n3 – 18th April
\n4 – 25th April
\n5 – 2nd May
\n6 – 9th May
\n7 – 16th May
\n8 – 23rd May
\n9 – 6th June
\n10 – 13th June
\nConcert 15th June at St Mary\u2019s.<\/p>\n

In total there will be 4 medleys only, this will make the commitment more manageable, in order that we can accommodate all those who have prior notified commitments.\u00a0 Each medley will be backed up by a Dropbox recording so you can practice at home and so that we don\u2019t have to slow down at rehearsals and do a lot of \u2018line bashing\u2019.\u00a0 There will be 2\/3 further chorus pieces (single items) to be discussed on Thursday.<\/p>\n

We acknowledge that everybody has other commitments that are already extant or that may inevitably arise and we want people to take part, so if you are confident with the music you will be welcome to participate, particularly because of the short rehearsal period to performance, even if you will miss 1 or 2 rehearsals.<\/p>\n

As we\u2019ve noted , rehearsal time is short so solos\/duets\/groups will be by audition and we would like those who are wanting to perform solos\/duets\/group work to indicate on Thursday what they would like to do to within the broad theme of the concert.\u00a0 We would respectfully suggest something you can be confident with and not too down beat, we are playing to a usually slightly older but very enthusiastic audience. I cannot say that you will definitely be called on but I would hope we can include the best. Don\u2019t limit your list as that gives Amy and I a better chance to choose specific numbers for the concert.<\/p>\n

The Audition process will be to advise on or before 4th April what pieces you would like considered.\u00a0 Auditions would be on April 11th (time to be advised).\u00a0 Final decision and selection by April 18th giving people 7 weeks to practise.<\/p>\n

The drop box tracks will be available for the medleys over the next few days so that gives people the Easter week to have a look at them before the 2nd rehearsal.\u00a0 Subject to licence we hope that we might get 1 or 2 songs in from our upcoming Winter show, Miracle on 34th Street<\/em>.<\/p>\n
